Alt Appreciation Week Ten - Warlock Week

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

 Warlock Week

Tairrie

Warlocks are Bamfs. I however am not and that means that I'm terrible at the class. I somehow managed to muddle my way though to level 90 which was quite a surprise. She's called Tairrie after Tairrie B from the band My Ruin because I've always been a huge fan of theirs.

Throughout Vanilla and The Burning Crusade along with Druid and Rogue -Warlocks were one of my most created but not played class. After instancing with anyone playing a Warlock and seeing how awesome they were I'd immediately create my own, get to around level 12 and just as quickly abandon her.

My highest level was during Wrath of the Lich King which got to level 51. She was a cute little Undead with pony tails but I had to delete her in order to level a character with a real life friend whom I was doing Recruit a friend. I decided to level another Warlock with my friend's Mage as it was the only class I'd never gotten to max level and with the Recruit a friend bonus I'd hopefully level so fast I wouldn't notice I was doing it! Sadly my friend stopped playing during Cataclysm due to having a baby but my Warlock soldiered on.

I enjoy playing the class but I think it comes down to the same struggle I have with playing Shadow Priest, I don't really enjoy DoT (damage over time) classes. I do lover he though, as my only Warlock she's a wee bit special and I do love Chaos Bolting people in their faces.

Alt Appreciation Week Nine - Shaman Week

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

First off sorry for the lack of posts recently, I've fallen so far behind on Alt Appreciation! I'm in the process of moving house so a lot of time has been spent decorating and doing other stupid grown up things.

Shaman Week
Sharlila Goblin Shaman
When it comes down to my alts Shaman's are among the rest with me having multiple of the class. I have a level 90 Draenei and a level (currently) 86 Goblin. I love both of them! This week I've spent a bit of time playing my Goblin Shaman, getting her a new transmog, making a little bit of gold on the Auction house from leveling her professions. I hadn't logged into her since Cataclysm as I'd transferred my main character off of the server back then and if I'm honest I've missed her stupid face with her big nose and cute hair.

I love the Shaman class and I was so glad when Alliance finally got the chance to play them with the introductin of The Burning Crusade. I really enjoy the healing style and the Elemental spec. I leveled my first Shaman as Enhancement and while I enjoyed it, once I got to max level and actually paid attention to what I was doing I realized I was really bad at it. I was always at the bottom of the meters. As I mentioned in my post during rogue week me and melee just aren't friends. I picked up an Elemental spec and I loved it! Firing lightening from my finger tips, what's not to love!?

If instead of Enhancement Shamans had a tanking spec they'd be my perfect class.

Alt Appreciation Week Eight - Rogue Week

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Rogue Week

If you've been following the Alt Appreciation series you'll know that I love alts I have multiples of the same class three Druids, four Paladins etc but I have only one Rogue and I'll only ever have one Rogue. Not because she's special to me, not because she's important to me but because I loathe the class!

When it comes down to my love of classes I take a few things into account. Can they tank? Can they heal? Can they DPS from range? Most classes cover at least one, sometimes two of these. Rogues cover none. I hate playing Retribution but that's Ok because Paladins can both tank and heal.

I created my Rogue during Wrath to help my Priest get her Insane title by farming lock boxes for Ravenholdt reputation. Afterwards I spent a little bit of time with a friend and got her to level 83 where she'll remain until I inevitably delete her. I just detest melee DPS and that's all a Rogue can do. Boo hiss!

Alt Appreciation Week Seven - Priest

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Priest Week
Priest hanging out at the Timeless Isle

It's finally rolled around to what I'll be honest was the week I was most looking forward to! Unfortunately the week so far hasn't gone as planned with my boyfriends HDD giving way he's been raiding on my computer and I've felt a bit bad playing WoW while he's not been able to! However every week is Priest week for me as my main is a Priest so it's not all bad.

My first attempt at the Priest class didn't go so well. I'd spent a fair amount of time watching a friend play a Hunter when the time came for me to learn the Fade spell I was pretty stoked. I somehow got it into my head that it was the exact same as Feign Death. It's not. I died a lot, decided Priests were terrible and ditched her instantly. That was some time pretty early in vanilla, thankfully it wasn't the end of Priest for me.

A few weeks before The Burning Crusade released I decided to start another Priest, Korla.

I had no idea then that she would become the heart and soul of my account. She started life out as a Human but I never really got around to leveling her. With the first expansion coming all of my focus was on gearing up my Hunter who had just become my new main, since I'd gotten a bit tired of my Warrior. After a few weeks of BC and deciding that I hated raiding on  / was awful at my Hunter my little Priest offered me some solace and respite.

Sadly not the original Korla.
Something happened while questing in The Badlands, I fell in love. Completely head over heals in love with Korla. It just hit me. I was having so much fun with her. I don't know if it was due to making some kind of break through with the game - up until that point I'd been a bit of a noob. I think it had a lot to do with me really enjoying the game for the first time. My Warrior had been my first character and everything was pointing to getting to level 60 as quickly as possible to begin raiding. That seemed to be the only point in the game in many people's opinion. My next character was my Hunter who again I rushed to level 60 as quick as I could so that she could become my new main for the expansion.

With Korla I took my time, quested though a lot of zones I'd never been to on my leveling path with my previous characters.

I had several friends who played healers, specifically Priest healers. Healing was an aspect of the game I was really interested in after having tanked and DPS'd in dungeons and raids. There was no such thing as LFG at that point so you had to look for people to join your group for instances. This was usually done either in the city or in the zone which the instance was located Westfall for Dead Mines, Hellfire Peninsula for Hellfire Ramparts for example. By the time I was level 60 the Armory existed but inspecting in game didn't. Duel spec also didn't exist so when I while I leveled as Shadow - when I saw someone looking for a healer I'd drop out of shadow form in order to lose my buff and tell them I was a healer. I loved healing so much more than Shadow.

In my mind she was my main even before she hit level 70 but once I got there I started the gear grind and began raiding on her and I continued to do so until the last tier of Cataclysm. I decided to take a break from raiding after clearing Dragon Soul, I just didn't have the heart to go back though and do it on heroic.

Firelands Priest Transmog
For most of my raiding career Korla has been Holy, during Wrath I raided along side a Disc Priest and there's no point in having two in a ten man raid. I finally took a Disc spec during Firelands as it was favored for a lot of the fights and I was no longer raiding with another Priest so I was free to do what I wanted. Throughout Mists I've stayed Disc as it's quite fun being able to pew pew and heal at the same time but this week I've gone back to my much loved Holy for a bit of a change and I'm really enjoying it again! It's even viable in PvP!

About two months ago my hard drive broke. Gone. kaput. I lost all of my screen shots from Vanilla - MoP and I'm gutted. I've lost the SS of Korla completing the ICC meta achievement, I've lost the SS of Korla grinding reputation in Dire Maul when my fiance first whispered me to tell me he liked me before we'd met. I've lost the SS of Korla hitting each of the level caps and all of the adventures we've been on and that makes me pretty sad but I still have the memories. If Blizzard decided that they had to make cut backs and everyone had to delete all character bar one Korla would be the one I'd keep. I really do love her.

Alt Appreciation Week Six - Paladin

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Paladin Week
Paladin.
I have numerous Paladins, four to be exact at various levels. Two Alliance and two Horde. One of my Alliance Paladins is level 90 the other is 81. My highest Horde Paladin is 82 the other being 72.

My first shot at Paladin was on a friends account during Vanilla. He had a level thirty something Dwarf Paladin  Holy moly there were a lot of buttons and abilities! At that point I only had my little Warrior so it came as a bit of a shock how full his action bars were. The class itself seemed fun though. Much later I created my first Paladin, a Draenei during The Burning Crusade. She somehow got stuck around level 39 for the longest time until Wrath of the Lich King.

During the expansion there had been several changes to Paladins and I decided to pick her back up. She was later changed to a Blood Elf. I raided a little bit on her though Icecrown Citadel.

All of my Paladins are Protection although I really enjoy healing on them. I'm a bit surprised as my goto spec for most classes is Holy. I have literally no idea how to play Retribution other than "hit thing in face!".

Alt Appreciation Week Five - Monk

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Monk Week.

What do you mean it's not Monk week anymore? Shhhh..

Monk week didn't go to plan for me. I kept putting it off in hopes that my boyfriend would want to level with me. We had been leveling our Monks together but he started to lose a bit of interest so I stopped playing mine too! I had hoped that during Monk week we'd be able to get them to level 90 but boyfriend just didn't seem too keen. I did a few instances on my own today and got mine to 85 - that's something at least. I do plan on leveling her to 90 soon with or without the boyfriend!

I made a cute little Pandaren Monk within the first few weeks of Mists and while I enjoyed the starting area once I left I pretty much abandoned her in Westfall. A few months ago inspired by Draynee and some really cute leather mogs over on her blog I decided to remake my Monk but as a Draenei!

Mistweaver Monk.

As I mentioned above I've been leveling her along side my partner who has been playing a Brewmaster Monk. My goto spec when playing almost every class is any verity of healing spec. Monk healing feels very different to Priest which is my main, I was a bit iffy about the channeling aspect of the class when I first started but now I love it! She has a heal for every situation and the Healing Spheres are super cute!

I'm really looking forward to getting her to level 90 but I'm not sure of how I'm going to do it yet. She has leveled exclusively though instances. I took a dps spec to try out once I hit 85 and I got my face kicked in multiple times in Jade Forest as I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing, Needs more investigation or I could only do instances while I have rested and see how long that takes!

Alt Appreiciation Week Four - Mage.

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Mage Week

I have a couple of Mages but only really two notable ones. Celliu is level 90 and unfortunately abandoned on a server I don't play on anymore. She along with my five other 90's on that server got a bit of a treat this week with the release of patch 5.4 and what's now being referred to as "Super loot island!". She was previously geared in mostly quest rewards from MoP but is now sporting an almost complete set of 496's. I love the Mage class but I have no real ties to Celliu, she's just another character. One who I leveled with Recruit a Friend during Cata who somehow bumbled her way to lvl 90.

Instead my heart lies with Korlat.

Korlat started life as a Human. She was my first real alt during Vanilla. I made her to take a bit of a break from my Warrior from time to time. I made the mistake of putting her in the same guild as my Warrior. As I mentioned in my Hunter week post when I was online I'd often be asked to tank instances and this was the case when I played my Mage I'd be asked to relog to my Warrior to help people.

I got her to around lvl 30 but I never really got into her. One afternoon a friend was running a guildy though Scarlet Monastery as they were a mail wearer I asked if I could tag along to snag a few of the cloth drops. At that level I wasn't able to equip any of the items I'd gotten so I decided to level her a bit more. At level 40 I decided to change spec from Fire to Frost and something clicked. I loved it! After having struggled along for 40 level's she was lvl 70 in a matter of days. Every Mage I've lvl'd since has been Frost. I do enjoy Fire a bit more but only in a raiding enviroment.

Late into Wrath my guild decided to transfer to Horde and my Mage was one of the first characters I moved across. I'd join the odd pug for ICC 25 on the weekend and often be in the top few DPS which is something I can only achieve on Mage and Hunter.

When Cataclysm released I level'd her to 85 but she hasn't gone any further as again she's on a server I no longer play my main on. I do plan on leveling her to 90 in the upcoming weeks. I'd love to see MoP from a Horde stand point.

If I'm honest, my heart not only belongs with Korlat but with the Horde.

Alt Appreciation Week Three - Hunter

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Hunter Week

Gosh I love my Hunter! I'd consider her my second main or at least my main alt. She was originally created as a form of escape but I ended up falling head over heals in love with her.

At the time I played a Protection Warrior and was one of the very few tanks in my guild who logged in during non raid times. That meant I was in demand, I'd log in and instantly receive whispers asking me to tank Blackrock Depths to help someone get their Molten Core attunement or Scholomance. I never really minded but sometimes I just wanted my play time to myself. The forty man raiding guild I was in had several chat channels to keep everything separate during raids /guildtanks /guildhealers for example. Each class had their own channel and despite me being a Warrior I ended up being invited to the Hunter channel. I never particularly got on with any of the other Tanks in the guild but I felt at home with the Hunters. When it came for me to create an alt to hide on Hunter was my first choice as so many of my friends played one.

My Hunter became my second character to hit level 60. I decided that I wanted to move away from my Warrior full time and my Hunter became my main! She was my first character to reach level 70 when The Burning Crusade launched and I even began raiding on her but sadly it was short lived. I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed solo play on her. I had terrible pet control and at the time I just wasn't a very good player. I didn't use keybinds which worked fine when I was tanking as very little was actually involoved but with my Hunter I really felt the difference, falling behind everyone else. I felt terrible and took a bit of a break from raiding choosing instead to level my Priest.

Cheeky lae!
I'm not the worst Hunter in game these days, I know to turn off pet growl in group situations. I know to dismiss my pet before I leap off of a cliff but I'm definitely still not the best Hunter. Today for example while farming Giant Dinosar Bones with Lae I began to wonder why I was only doing 40k DPS, we'd killed dozens of Raptors before I discovered when I changed spec from Survival to Beast Mastery I hadn't put my aspect back on. Oops! Once I noticed I was back to doing my normal 70-90k. I'm happy to announce this is a very rare occurrence.

While I have eight level nineties I only run raid finder with my Priest and Hunter because they're definitely my two favorite classes.

Noel and Terry.
I have two favorite pets. Noel and Terry. Noel is one of my oldest pets whom I tamed the second I could. He's not rare but he's special to me. He was the pet of choice for Dysphoria who did the Hunter v's world series way back in Vanilla. I was so impressed by her, I wanted to be just like her when my Hunter grew up! Terry on the other hand I was just lucky to stumble upon!

Alt Appreciation Week Two - Druid week part two.

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Druid Week

I've been loving Druid week! My Druid Ahdrin whom I mentioned in this post hit level ninety last night! I'm loving playing Guardian on her, I've only done a few heroics but it's been really fun. I started questing at around eighty eight as instance xp was getting pretty slow. I tried questing as Feral which ended in tears, I lost count of how many times I died. I switched to Balance which seemed to go a little better. I've leveled all of my Druids almost exclusively though tanking instances so being out on my own with a spec I'm not familiar with was a terrible experience but I got there!

I got a nice surprise from a friend today. A Cinder Kitten! Squeeeeeeee! If that isn't the perfect gift for a Druid then I don't know what is. I love him. Thank you if you're reading this <3. I named him Dazzle after the Druid overlord who gave him to me.

Dazzle with his Daddy the Druid Overlord.

Robes of the Summer Flame.
Given that I spend most of my time as a bear I don't spend too much time mogging my poor druid but this and the first one in my previous post are probably my favorites.

Alt Appreciation Week Two - Druid.

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Druid week.

Ahdrin.

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Druids. It's the only class I don't really enjoy healing on but I sure do love the class in general. What's not to love about shape shifting and having four talent specs? Oh! and the dances, you can't not love the dances!

Raawwwwrrrrr!
I'd often group up with a Druid in instances and absolutely adored them. They always seemed to be played by such cool friendly people. Despite my love for the class and my desire to play one I could never get my head around them, at least not enough to stick with them. Between Vanilla and late BC I had created about six Druids none of them making it past level fourteen. They'd reach that magic number, become abandoned on my character selection screen and inevitably meet the same fate as the many Warlocks, Rogues and Druids before them - I'd delete them.

Leala.
Something changed with Leala, I don't know what. As the end of BC was looming I created myself yet another Night Elf Druid after watching some PvP videos featuring a Feral Druid. I just wanted to play one so bad! Somehow Leala made it to level twenty. This was a first! She had kitty form now, soon she was fourty! I instantly took a balance spec and headed out to Theramore to quest. I died, I died a lot. Really a lot. I went back to feral immediately and she made it to seventy before Wrath was released. It felt like quite an accomplishment. After Wrath hit she became my second level eighty, ahead of my Mage and even my Hunter - two of my favorite characters.

During Wrath of the Lich King my guild transferred to Horde at that point the only option for Druid's were Tauren. I hated her. The only saving grace was that I still played her as Feral and the Horde cat and bear forms are pretty cool. I leveled Leala to eighty five a bit later though Cataclysm but I just don't feel the way I did about her.

While it's all doom and gloom for poor Leala, that's not the case for Ahdrin! My second Druid who's again a Night Elf. She's currently level eighty eight and I've recently picked up a Guardian spec which I'm really enjoying!

Alt Appreciation Week One - Death Knight.

Lae from World of Lae has come up with awesome idea of celebrating all of the classes in World of Warcraft one by one, each week! You can find out more about it and a list of participants in this thread.

Death Knight week.

Soco.
When Wrath of the Lich King released I created a Death Knight just to try out their new starting area which I loved but I already had my main and a few other alts I wanted to level long before I leveled a Death Knight. They soon started creeping into dungeons and heroics and each one I came across seemed to be worse than the last. They had a terrible reputation being dubbed the new "huntard". I'll admit this put me off playing one for a while, I wasn't sure if this meant they'd be complicated given that so many people seemed to be struggling with them.

Maisey.
I eventually made myself a Human female DK with the intent of actually leveling her now that all of my other characters were at max level and I fell in love with the class pretty quickly!

I got her to level 80 during Wrath. However my guild decided to transfer over to horde side and I wasn't willing to pay to transfer her along with my Priest and Druid. She didn't have anything worth holding on to her for and I hated her face. I don't like the way that the DK eye glow looks on Human females.

Since DK's start at level 55 I deleted her in favor of leveling a new one on Horde and I'll admit that I was much happier with her as a Blood Elf!

I've since leveled a further two Death Knights who are both on Alliance although none of them have made it to 90 yet. I was leveling one with a friend who plays WoW on and off every six months or so as she has a little baby so my little 85 DK is waiting patiently for her Mage's return.

All four of my DK's have leveled as Blood I really enjoy the style of tanking and I'm not a huge fan of melee DPS. My only gripe is being forced to play though the DK starting area unable to leave. After doing it so many times it's beginning to grate on me. This is similar to the Goblin, Worgen and Pandaren starting area's. Let me level where I want to, god damnit!
