It's been so long since I posted, I apologize. I hope everyone had a fantastic time over the holiday season.

With it being a new year I've been cleaning up, even around my computer. So I'm dumping some SS's from Beta so I can get rid of the files.
I decided to log in and saw several new comments and discovered I still have several hundred visitors every week despite having not updated since July (Seriously? July, are you for real?) and that made me feel pretty bad! While I really only use my blog for myself it still makes me sad that people would visit and not find anything new. Sorry guise!

The Pre-Warlords patch (6.0.2) The Iron Tide came out last week so I've been busy collecting BoA weapons from Heroic Garry for all of my characters. Although I have been having a lot of connection issues since the patch which has left a bit of a bitter taste. I really hope things are fixed for next week. Still, I can't believe WoD is almost finally here and I'm really excited!

Back in March I wrote a post containing a list of things I'd like to do in game before or during WoD. Lets take a look back and see what I managed to get done and what I completely forgot to do!

Challenge Modes - I completed these on both my Priest and Shaman! Which were the only two sets I really liked. I was mega late to the CM party this time around but plan on doing them much sooner in WoD.

Learn how to play and Re-roll Horde fit perfectly into each other. A friend on Twitter joked about me moving to his server and re-rolling Horde to join his raid team. Several months down the line and I've done exactly that! I transferred my Priest (main) to join my already ninety Paladin on his server and used my WoD boost on a Hunter. I transferred my namesake DK (Soco) and an old abandoned Shaman over to join them. These will be my five characters throughout WoD. I'm going to try my absolute best not to level or play any other characters. My altaholism had gotten beyond a joke in MoP. I finished Vanilla with 2 x 60's. BC with 6 x 70's. Wrath with 9 x 80's. Cataclysm with 12 x 85's and MoP? I've honestly lost count. I think around 17. I recently deleted six level 90's from an old Server. I'll allow myself to level one more alt from 1-100 in WoD but only if I really really have to. In theory I should be much better at my chosen classes. I'm already a much better Ret Paladin than I was a year ago although I'm still Baddy Mc Badderson as melee.

Clearly not everyone's happy about the Belf army I've accidentally created.

Loremaster - I completely forgot I wanted to finish the last three achievements. I completed the old version and had tasked myself with doing over all of the new zones since the cataclysm. Desolace, Stonetalon and Feralas remain uncompleted.Oops!

Achievements - I've gotten a lot more raiding achievements done over the past few weeks. I had stopped raiding during heroic DS so only did LFR throughout MoP meaning I missed out on all of the raiding achievements. I did Heroic Terrace of Endless Spring a few weeks ago with @pixieburst from Twitter as well as Siege of Orgrimmar. I only have to finish off getting the Klaxxi buffs to get my mount! This weekend we plan on going to Throne of Thunder so hopefully I'll get a few from there and be a bit closer to the getting the mount from the meta.

Brawlers Guild - I completed Brawlers as well as Deck your collection and the previous achievements! I plan on doing the updated version at 100.

Giant Dinosaur Bone - These are now BoE but I'm at 4000. Part of me wants to continue to grind the rest but a bigger part of me wants to just buy them and be done with it because I'm lazy. I'm not sure which side will win out yet.

Domination Point Commission - I finished this and got my pet :3

So we had some wins and some losses. All in all I've been having a pretty good time in WoW recently. This week I've been leveling pets for the Celestial Tournament something which I've been putting off for ages. I finally hit 200 mounts. I'm finally back on the Horde where I belong and I've joined a guild and intend on returning to Mythic raiding in WoD with a great group of people and my fiance <3.

What's everyone else been upto? Did you complete things you wanted to do before WoD?

I told my boyfriend as soon as he woke up "I know, I got an invite" "...". The only e-mail I had from Blizzard was offering me 50% off of WoW. Way to break my heart Blizz! Thankfully a few hours later I also got an invite! I've never played in any of the expansion betas and I can't remember ever opting in for any of them besides WoD.

I started it up last night for the first time. Sadly as I'm from the EU and the only servers available at the moment are US servers I can't copy a character over.* I made a pre-made Priest, grabbed a Shadow and Disc spec, threw together enough key bindings to be able to play and headed in the same direction as everyone else! Unfortunately I was unable to hand in my first quest so I packed it in for the night after having a little run around.

There are so many excellent changes added to the interface options. The key binding windows all have their own section instead of the old mishmash which is a welcomed change. Raid graphics has it's own section. I'd have loved that with my old computer which was essentially a potato.

Logging in this morning I was able to abandon and redo my first quest and was also able to complete it. I'm not entirely sure what I want to do with the beta. I've only visited a small corner of Shadowmoon Valley so far and it's incredibly beautiful. Part of me wants to not touch it and leave all of it until live but I keep doing "just one more quest". Why did I opt in if I wasn't willing to test it?

Garrisons are one of the aspects of WoD I was looking forward to the most. While there has been a lot of lag, many DC's and completely random phasing it's still been incredibly fun. I've started questing and even started my Garrison.

While it's beta it's very similar to an expansion launch and holy cow, people are ruthless! I'm one of those people who if I see someone fighting a mob right next to a vein or on top of it, I presume they're going for the vein and I'll leave it. One of the first quests requires you to click on flags next to trees. The trees are of course surrounded by mobs. As soon as you get into combat with them someone will inevitably come in and yoink your flag. Bloody scoundrals.
Did you opt in for the beta? Did you get lucky? What do you plan to do with it, explore the whole thing or just little bits, exploration?
You know whats to blame for that? Netflix.

A few months ago my Fiance and I decided to get Netflix. Unfortunately there is a huge difference in whats available in the UK compared to the US. So I've been using an addon for Chrome (Zenmate) which allows you to watch the US Netflix from the UK. Sadly while streaming from the US it completely kills everything else so I've not been able to play WoW while watching shows due to insane lag. It's fine while I'm watching UK Netflix though thankfully. So far I've watched quite a few movies, all of Lost, all of Dexter, many many documentaries and I'm part way through Breaking Bad. There's a disappointing lack of Disney on there though!

While not really playing I still didn't unsub from WoW I've still been logging in and having the odd tinker with things, keeping an eye on mailboxes and such as I tend to store things in mailboxes. I did lose a whole load of glyphs though! Thankfully I wanted out of that market so there's at least a silver lining. I had thought that during this time with not much going on I'd unsub from WoW and give Wildstar a shot. I got a weekend beta invite to Wildstar but it fell on a really busy weekend and of the little that I did play I just wasn't that into it. I plan on trying it again some time though but WoW still remains the MMO for me.

A couple of things have changed in the past few months while I haven't been around. Those of you who have followed my blog and or my Twitter feed for a while will know that I suffer from Depression, Anxiety and Panic Disorder. I changed medication around a few times which led to a few terrible weeks but everything seems to have evened out again. Due to my mental health issues I'm not incredibly active and due to my depression I haven't been taking very good care of myself physically either. Which means I've put on weight which in turn made me feel even worse. For the longest time I'd eat pretty much just what was at hand to stop being hungry for a little while (mainly crisps (chips) and chocolate) or not eat at all. Both of these options are terrible.

I've started cooking and I've fallen a bit in love with it. I'm losing weight but I'm also feeling a lot better, I'm not just eating empty calories. I've lost 26lbs so far and I'd like to lose maybe another 30.

I've been logging into WoW a bit more regularly this week it's nice to see the Gaze of the Black Price buff "Increases reputation gained with the Black Prince by 100%. Increases the chances his most hated foes will relinquish their Secrets of the Empire, Sigil of Wisdom, Sigil of Power, or Titan Runestones." I've started doing this quest on multiple characters but I've only completed it on my Priest but with the buff I've started actively collecting items on my Shaman and Hunter.

A friend who had stopped playing for a few months due to Uni has also started playing again as she has the whole summer to relax. She'll be coming to visit us in July which is awesome. We've met before so it'll be nice to see her again. Now that we're both back playing it means we'll probably start our second round of Challenge Modes soon. Though I can't decide who to do them on. It's a toss up between Shaman and Mage.

I hope everyone else is doing OK <3 Socohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07504566084360387835noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919894404782769142.post-20756350598215305422014-04-16T14:04:00.000+01:002014-04-16T14:11:50.990+01:00Challenge mode Gold complete.
This week my group and I completed our Challenge Mode Golds. By completing Gold you automatically complete Bronze and Silver so obtain all of the rewards.

Rewards.

Bronze - Title. The Undaunted
Silver - Pandaren Phoenix mount. Which you can see the in the screenshot above. You can only chose one. I went with Emerald. In 6.0 if you have one mount you'll be rewarded with all of them.
Gold - Class specific armor set. Transmog only, it has no stats. Challengers Path ability in your spell book. Which allows you to teleport to the entrance of each of the challenge modes you've completed on Gold.
Completing each of the Challenge Modes on Gold in a guild group will also reward you with Thundering Serpent Hatchling pet which you can purchase from the guild vendor.

What are Challenge modes?

If you haven't yet done Challenge modes, I urge you to do them as they're incredibly fun!
Challenge Modes are timed heroic instance runs. They are however not just super fast heroics. They're heroics on steroids. Any gear over 463 will be scaled down to that level. Meaning you can't just bullshit your way through them with superior gear.

In terms of gear I didn't go out of my way to gather a BiS I had a few older pieces which I used. While your gear is scaled down gems aren't so I just went with the pieces which had the most gem slots.

When you enter the instance on the Challenge Mode setting you're faced with a wall and an orb. Clicking the orb will give you a five second count down and then the wall will go down. On the right hand side of your screen you'll be given an objective.

Challenge mode. Disc PoV.

Once you begin a timer will also be added to the right hand side of your screen showing you how much time you have left to complete the instance.

The first two instances we did were Temple of the Jade Serpent and Gate of the Setting Sun which I did as Holy but then switched to Disc for the rest. They're all completable as Holy I just wanted to try them as Disc and also to help out with DPS during low damage parts.

I wouldn't say that the Challenge modes were difficult. They were challenging and a little bit stressful in parts but certainly not what I'd call hard. I was incredibly nervous going into our first one. Gate of the Setting Sun which has the bomber-man part at the very beginning, these bombs will one-two shot you. People's deaths weren't my fault but as the healer they felt like they were. We must have wiped on that first part about 12 times with me proclaiming "I'm not good enough to do these!" but once we all stopped being bad at life they went smoothly. We had quite a few wipes at the beginning of Scarlet Halls due to a bug, mobs not resetting properly. At the beginning you have to use the buckets of meat on the NPC and let the dogs chomp on him, however if he's stunned the buckets don't seem to work correctly. It took us a few tries to figure out him being stunned was causing the problem. Of course we were only going for gold and not going for realm best times so I suspect that would increase the difficulty if you were pulling more mobs, rapidly.

Bosses were easy but the trash hit like trucks wielding trucks and required ample cool down usage. Unfortunately our Tank didn't have a mic which made things a bit more interesting! Particularly the trash at the beginning of Temple of the Jade Serpent, mobs before and after the second boss in Scarlet Monastery for example. Thankfully my boyfriend is a great Paladin and helped out with some of his own cool downs.

I'm really glad we got a chance to do them before they go away and hopefully we'll start challenge modes much earlier in WoD so we get a chance to try for some more competitive times.

Zerohour recently wrote a post on his blog Locked, loaded, so why unsub? (he comes across as a total dickwomble but that man has a point.) While I agree with the sentiment of his post. I am one of those people who will likely unsub for a while until WoD but mostly because I want to try out WildStar. Given that I no longer raid the lack of new content doesn't really bother me, I am a bit disappointed as I was expecting WoD to be a lot closer than December ("or before").

Zero's post did spur me on to get my ass in gear though! There's a bunch of things I've had on a mental check list for a while. Some I want (or need) to get done before Warlords, some I can continue working on throughout Warlords.

Challenge Modes

The minute I heard about Challenge Modes I knew I would want to do them. However when MoP launched I somehow got it into my head that they couldn't be done cross server. I wasn't prepared to try and pug them because I'm both pretty shy and not entirely confident in my own ability as a player. My Fiance, ex raid team and the majority of my friends all play on other servers. So I resigned to the fact that I was never going to get a chance to do them nor get the awesome Priest challenge mode armor. However thanks to a comment left on my blog (<3) I found out that they could in fact be done cross realm! Since then they've been on my to do list but kept being put off until now.

We started doing them last week with the intention of doing one each week on a Wednesday night and spending no more than two and a half hours on them. We're running with a Prot Warrior who has no mic, Ret Paladin, Warlock, Hunter and me healing on my Priest. On the first week we got Temple of the Jade Serpent and Gate of the Setting Sun. This week we got Shado-Pan Monastery and Stormstout Brewery. We're only going for Gold as neither of us see any point in going for less. On our first night we were a few seconds away from getting Gold on Temple of the Jade Serpent due to a miss timed heroism. We stopped mid way though the last boss and reset the instance, porting us back to the beginning to start over.

On the first night I ran as Holy but I've switched to Disc and I'll probably continue to do the rest as Disc. They're incredibly fun, if you've not tried Challenge modes yet I urge you to do so. We're already planning a second set of characters to do Challenge modes on. Same group of people just different classes. I think I'm going to go with my Mage as the set is gorgeous. It does mean however that I'm going to have to grind some gear for my Mage to get myself some more gem stlots.

Which brings me to the second and third thing on my list. Also 2b on Zero's list.

Learn how to play

Ok so for me this isn't quite as extreme as the examples Zero points out in his post. I can comfortably do over 100k dps on the majority of my alts. However I'm not entirely confident in my ability on most of them.

I'm a good healer. With the exception of Druid I'm fucking terrible at Druid healing I think because I don't enjoy it.
I'm an OK tank.
I'm an OK ranged DPS
I'm a fucking awful melee DPS. I hate the play style.

My fiance and friends are always telling me I'm better than I think I am. Regardless I could be better at all of them.

Going forward into WoD I've decided that I'm only going to play five classes. I don't need 17 level 90's or the other 14 between 85-90. This ties into gold making. Ever since I started making gold I've always focused on having way too many max level characters to churn out daily profession cooldowns. I just don't enjoy that anymore. Cycling though each character doing their farm and daily CD + crafting for so long has taken it's toll and I've become completely bored of the entire thing. Throughout WoD I'd like to at least try to limit myself to five characters. Sure I'll still make gold but by only using those five. I've not decided on which five yet. Only two so far. My Priest and a Hunter. This will also give me an ample excuse to play these classes better.

One thing in this vein that I'd really like to do is the Warlock green fire quests. I'm not a particularly bad Warlock but I'm certainly not very skilled either!

Re-roll Horde

I started out life in Vanilla as Alliance but the second they brought out the faction change option on the Blizzard store I was off. I loved being Horde it just felt right but I was convinced to return to the Alliance to raid with friends. We later as a group all returned to the Horde but during Cataclysm I went back to the Alliance in favor of better raid progression. Now that I don't raid except for the occasional casual run and with everything being cross realm, I can be whatever the fuck faction I want. And I want to be Horde! Lok'Tar Ogar!

The Godmother has welcomed everyone to join her in leveling a character from scratch without boosting it to 90. You can find information here if You'd like to join in.

I've decided to level a Hunter on my chosen realm destination once I faction change my Priest. I'll happily pay to faction change and server transfer my Priest as she's my main however I refuse to pay for any other characters as none of them are as important as Korla. I don't have the same bond with my alts as I do with her. They're really just classes to me, as apposed to actual characters. If that makes sense? I've decided to level my little Horde Hunter with only the BoA weapon as I felt the xp gain was far too fast. I'm probably going to level mostly though Kalimdor as I haven't done so in a while but I want to complete any zones tied to the Undead first as they're my favorite Horde race. I've done the Blood Elf quests far too many times.

Loremaster

I
completed the original Loremaster which was a giant PITA but when they
revamped the entire thing in Cataclysm I also went though and completed
the new achievements for completing each zone.
I only have Desolace, Stonetalon and Feralas left to complete. My new little Hunter may be tasked with this.

Achievements

I went balls to the wall when achievements were introduced, I had a little bit of a competition going with a friend. But recently I've not really been chasing them. I got exalted with all of the Pandaria factions via dailies, I was one of the few people who actually enjoyed doing them at the beginning of MoP but never stopped to do the achievements tied to them Yak Attack, Getting around with the Shado-Pan for example. I've been working on some of these this week and it's been fun.

The hardest part is actually waiting for the exact daily you need to become available. At the moment I'm working my way though the Quest section of achievements. As I have almost everything in the General section complete. Missing 11 mounts for Mount Parade (200 mounts) and about 50k short from Got My Mind on my Money (loot 200,000 gold).

Within the topic of Achievments I have a bunch of things I need to get finished. I'm missing a load of Pet Battle achievements. I go though phases with Pet Battles where I get really into it then burn myself out on it similarly to archeology. I don't have many more to collect and level but I do have a few. I've also still not tried the Celestial Tournament so that's on the list.

The only thing I'm missing from Reputation is Emperor Shaohao. This is something I'm going to have to devote some serious time to as I don't do the weekly quests. So my reputation is so far behind.

I'm hoping to get a group together later this week or next week to finish off the Pandaria Heroic Dungeon achievements along with the Scenario achievements.

Brawlers Guild

I've almost completely avoided Brawlers Guild since it's introduction. I think my Priest might be rank four. I'm terrified of being called bad from onlookers. The run back is also a pain if you do die. I'll admit that I'm a terrible Shadow Priest. I have a Shadow spec sometimes for doing dailies and such but for the most part I do them as Holy or Disc. Despite my Priest being my main since BC I've never raided as Shadow only doing the odd Heroic after well out gearing them. I'd really like to learn how to play Shadow and be able to do more than 150k dps. I could complete Brawlers Guild on another character, one I'm more comfortable DPSing on but I want to complete it on Korla.

Stupid grindy shit

Giant Dinosaur Bone - One of the mounts I still need is from handing in 9999 Giant Dinosaur Bones. Currently at 2000. I've been doing this on my Hunter but not nearly as often as I should be.

Domination Point Commission - After handing in 2000 of these Proveditor Grantley gives you a Rodent Crate which lets you summon and capture the Sumprush rodent battle pet. Currently at 1.3k.

Gilneas Tabard

For my Transmog with Tabards series I've decided to start out with the Alliance and Horde Faction Tabards.

Gilneas Tabard

Shoulder - Shoulderpads of Dou Dou chong
Chest - Blue linen Vest
Bracers - Sorcerer Bracelets
Gloves - Imperial Red Gloves
Belt - Veteran's Silk Belt
Legs - Legwraps of Cardinality
Feet - Mistscape Boots

Shirt - Blue workman's shirt (optional)

I wanted to pick up the red within the Tabard and I think the Belt along with the red in the Legs do a good job of highlighting it. While Dreanei don't show boots very well I liked these on my human so they should work for other races too.
Ever since competing in Sam's Tabard of the Hand transmog contest I've wanted to make a transmog for each of the Tabards in game. I wasn't really sure how to go about it. With Korla being my main she has access to almost every tabard in game apart from the TCG ones.

But that would mean all of the mogs being cloth and given how little room I have to work with I've come to the conclusion that I'll do it with the help of Mogit! That way I can incorporate some Mail, Plate and Leather into the looks!

I'm not sure how often I'll post a new one but hopefully every week or fortnight I'll be able to post a couple.

Phew! I'm glad that's over! Now I'm tasked with getting them all to level 90 although I'm in no immediate rush. For the most part I leveled via questing with the odd boost from my lovely boyfriend as the instances combined with the quests inside gave a great amount of xp. Questing though Outland felt incredibly slow. So from 60-70 I stuck to mostly boosts as it could be done in around 5 instances!

Northrend and Cataclysm questing seemed to be really fast. I got my Shaman from 67-83 in about two hours. Keep in mind though that I have leveled around 20 characters to level 80 without RaF so I've got most of the quests down pat.

After all of the leveling came the granting levels and thankfully I had my boyfriend on hand to help out with that too, as tabbing between the two accounts would have been a nightmare! When granting levels the recipient has to click accept for each level. That could have taken me hours.

Now it's down to settling into the characters, leveling them to 90 and working on those all important transmogs! I'm currently working on my Monk as she's been sat at 85 for more than a few months and has racked up two levels of rested xp. From there I plan on switching between characters while I use up their xp. That's going to be an odd change for me. Usually when leveling a character I focus on that one and nothing else until they get to max level regardless of whether or not I have rested xp or not.

I'll also be taking a bit of time out to level up some professions, I've not worked out all of them yet and I'm waiting to hear a bit more about profession cool downs coming in WoD but I know I at least want one of each profession regardless of the CD situation so I'll be working on that over the next few days.

While I still have RaF active I'm going to take advantage of it to level up a Priest on another server to level 80. My boyfriend and I have been putting together a group to do Herald of the Titans, which requires you to kill Algalon in Ulduar at level 80 with gear that has the same ilvl obtainable from Ulduar. However being the alcoholic and completionist that I am none of my alt are below 90 or at least 85!

It's going to be a busy few weeks by the looks of things! Socohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07504566084360387835noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919894404782769142.post-22817856363727022832014-01-27T23:56:00.001+00:002014-02-07T09:43:18.485+00:00Planning professions! I mentioned in my last post that I've been doing RaF with myself. The end result will be seven new characters at level 85 which I'll then level to 90 as quickly as I can. What this means is I'll have fourteen new profession slots. I'll also be using my free level 90 from pre ordering Warlords of Dreanor to give myself a Rogue. Meaning another two profession slots. While I've been leveling I've been sending everything I pick up to an alt to store in a guild bank.
I've been buying any herbs / ore under market price to level Blacksmithing/JC/Alchemy and Inscription. Here's what I'm hoping to end up with by the end of this. If you think I'd be better off with different professions on different characters then feel free to chime in! Any suggestions are more than welcome!

My Priest is my main and has JC/Enchanting with all patterns however because she's my main it means she also seldom has much in the way of bag space! So having a second character capable of shuffling ore is a must.

I've tried to double up on all crafting professions which currently have a cool down and hopefully will continue to do so in Warlords, Blacksmithing, Tailoring and Leatherworking. I'm not 100% sure about the Tailoring on the Warrior although I've had it in the past. Getting that extra cloth on a class which can quickly blitz though instances or mobs is great. Although it's rare that I actually farm. The ability to learn patterns quicker is a huge bonus.

Ideally my third Enchanter would be my third most played character, being able to DE your gear once you're done with it has always worked out well. Drops in LFR/Flex you don't need? DE them! In terms of third most played I think that'll end up being my Monk or Mage. But at the same time having Enchanting on a character who runs older content has always been a favorite of mine, I'd really like a Plate wearer with Enchanting as they'll be doing a lot of Transmog runs, I adore Plate mogs!

Anything that I'm not sure about I've coupled with Alchemy because Alchemy always gets neat transmutes each expansion. Socohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07504566084360387835noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919894404782769142.post-12927808125873081132014-01-27T21:41:00.000+00:002014-01-27T23:56:42.346+00:00When you don't have friends to recruit, recruit yourself! I've been quiet around these parts recently, that's due to a couple of things. I've recently started on new medication which my body doesn't seem to be liking. At the moment. Everything is at least five times harder than it should be. I'm extremely tired and I just feel, fuzzy. I'm not really sure how else to describe it.

On a brighter note my new computer arrived today and I'm so excited! I've had this one since Wrath and at the time it was OK but not great however it was paid for by my parents so I was incredibly grateful. This time around I've purchased it myself which has given me more freedom to upgrade everything just that little bit extra because it's my own money. I'm awaiting one more part to arrive and then I'll be able to get it all set up. Squeeee!

A couple of weeks ago Stede from Late night with Stede made a blog post about making the most of doing Recruit a friend with yourself. If you've followed my blog or myself for a little while you'll know that I adore alts. But any time I move my main off of a server any alts that are left behind are effectively no longer played. With Stede's post in mind and Warlords of Dreanor somewhere around the corner and not much else to do in game at the moment. I decided to recruit a friend with myself!

I'll be honest, I'm terrible at maths. Beyond terrible and at the moment I'm struggling for anything to make any sense let alone something I'm mega bad at. If left to my own devices I'd have done my RaF the long way. So I contacted Stede and asked him for some advice pertaining to his method of leveling and granting level's and the amazing soul that he is did the work for me!

I had to colour in the colums in paint with each of my chosen class colours because otherwise I couldn't make any sense of it, that's how foggy everything is at the moment!

With a solid plan in place it was time to start leveling! I'm not using anything fancy just running two clients, one monitor. I have one active character who basically kills everything the other one is on constant follow just for the 300% bonus xp. I just tab between windows to pick up/hand in quests and collect quest items. There are programs out there which help with that allowing you to set up key presses which will do something on both accounts but I'm not entirely sure how those are viewed in terms of the Blizzard ToS so I've stayed away, better safe than sorry!

So far my Shaman and leveling buddy are 63, Warlock is 60, Warrior, DK and Druid part of the plan are done. Just need to start my Mage and Paladin with their respective leveling partners. You might have noticed a few missing from that image. I already have a level 90 Priest (main) and Hunter on the server. Monk is currently 85 and I plan on using the free level 90 for Rogue.

As part of my leveling I've been switching between questing and accepting boosts from friends! Huge thank you to 8Bitzs on Twitter. From Every Last Copper for hauling my ass though a few places! Socohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07504566084360387835noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919894404782769142.post-3218566551934865632014-01-12T15:43:00.000+00:002014-01-12T15:43:54.675+00:0011 level nineties! I had quite a busy week last week two new level 90's joined the fold, taking me to 11! Although probably not the 11 you'd think, Ideally I would like a level 90 of each class but for the moment my Monk is 85, Death Knight is 86 and Rogue is 83 (and will forever remain at that level).

Instead this week I got my second level 90 Mage and Priest. I now have two level 90 Shamans, Mages and Priests. For the Shammy and Mage I have one Alliance and one Horde but both Priests are Alliance, just on different servers!

Both of them leveled though slightly different methods. On my Mage I leveled from 85 to 86 in Jade Forest and then fucked that off in favor of grinding xp on the Timeless Isle as I'd done previously on my Horde Elemental Shaman. With so many level 90's now I'm beyond sick of questing in MoP. Grinding on the Isle was pretty easy as Frost but a little dicey in the beginning with missing so much but it certainly got easier as she leveled up. I leveled via the Spotted Swarmers who come in packs of around 10 and are fairly easy to AoE down, certainly with ranged classes. It was also insanely fast!

I've heard about people doing Monkey runs where you run Stormstout Brewery in a group of five, kill all of the monkeys up until the first boss then run out and reset. There's also an area in Kun'lai Summit called Dooker Dome which has a gathering of mobs pretty close together. People tend to use the tag method and have a level 90 who isn't in their group kill them. I prefer the Timeless Isle method as I don't have to rely on anyone else! I can grind for twenty minutes and then go do something else, tab out, go AFK or stop to go tag a rare without affecting anyone else. At level 87 I was getting 32k xp per kill with rested. Pretty damn nice if you ask me!

My Priest I picked up around 83 after having been abandoned for quite a while so I leveled though instances until 85. I started questing in Jade Forest and when I hit 86 I did Temple of the Jade Serpent and Stormstout Brewery. Since she's on a PvP server I decided against Timeless Isle leveling on her, I can't imagine people taking too kindly to a level 86 free kill wandering around so I opted for pet battles instead. Something I've never done before.

I parked her in a small area in Vale of Eternal Blossoms which has a little spot of land with around 5 pets that respawn really fast. The fights often consist of two Aquatic and one Flying so I used a Flying pet and a Magic pet along with whatever pet I was currently leveling. There is an inn right next to the spot and Aki the Chosen is also a stones throw away! I'd level though pet battles until each new level when new dungeons would pop up in my group finder which I'd do once to complete the quests then return to my battling. At 89 I quested a little in Dread Wastes just to speed things up a little.

Gold Making Blogs. I'll be honest I'm not really in the habit of reading gold making blogs anymore as I prefer to listen to podcasts while I'm doing other things. I tend to read general wow blogs more. I do however always read Nev's blog though perhaps because I think of her as a friend so I'm interested in what she's got to say and what she's been upto.
The question for today is;

"Have you bought yourself anything really expensive as a reward for earning all that gold? Or do you have a self-present in mind for when you reach your goal?"

Hell yeah! I'm all about the spending! I've not only lavished myself with gifts buy my friends too! My first big purchase after hitting gold cap was my Spectral Tiger - a mount I'd coveted for years. I've bought a great deal of mounts and pets some from the Black Market auction house, some of which I've posted about on the blog.

I've bought my Fiance a Rooster mount, given away about eight Vial of the Sands and multiple Hogs. Geared my Fiance up for raiding on various alt to the sum of about 200k.

I dread to think how much gold I've actually spend but that's the good thing about making gold! I've never fully understood making it just to sit on it!

The question for today is;

"18.What is the most important bit of advice you could give to a new gold maker? (not a game newbie though, just a newbie gold maker)"

Any advice I could give you on gold making is probably already out there so I'm going to give you a bit of personal advice instead.

Fuck off Soco, I just want dem golds! Tough!

Gold making is great and it's an awesome little side project to work on but be careful not to fall into a trap on being too focused on it. World of Warcraft is a fantastic game with so much to do. It's also a social game. I suffer from depression, anxiety and panic disorder for a while I slipped into doing very little aside from gold making. It's a very solitary hobby and before I knew it I realized I no longer spoke to anyone or played with anyone in game.

Throughout MoP I've stopped focusing on making gold so much and actually joined a guild with people rather than having all of my characters in a guild bank with only myself and it's made a huge change to my game and my happiness.

I'm not saying this happens to everyone and I don't want to be a debby downer but just keep an eye on it. Make sure you take time out from scouring the auction house and TUJ to knock out some Arena, heroics, raids or pet battles and try to have fun outside of gold making with other people! Socohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07504566084360387835noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919894404782769142.post-85265959854445045582014-01-08T00:00:00.000+00:002014-01-08T00:00:05.754+00:0020 Days of Gold Making - Day Sixteen/SeventeenNev from Auction House Addict has created a community project for the gold makers among us 20 Days of Gold Making You can find a list of all of the participants in this blog post at AH addict.

The question for today is;

"Flipping! Do you flip stuff regularly or sometimes? Big ticket items or smaller high volume stuff?"
"Pets - Did you used to do the Vendor pet sales? How have pet battles changed things for you"

I'm going to combine these two questions.

I'm a bit risk averse so I tend to stay away from big flips. At the moment I'm leveling a second Priest to 90 on my Fiance's server. I don't like relying on him for gold so I've been making my own by flipping leveling greens and a few transmogrification items.

Caging a battle pet.

Something I do really enjoy is flipping pets. I play on a much quieter server than that of my Fiance so it's often easier and cheaper to buy pets off of his auction house. I not only pick up pets for my own use but the majority of level 25 pets on his server cost 2-4k whereas they cost between 6-9k on mine. When I'm not sneakily buying pets for my own use I buy a few to resell on my own server.

Pets which you don't pick up in the wild via battles or pets from achievements can be put into a cage and sold on the auction house. After you buy a pet and take it out of your mailbox upon clicking it you'll learn that pet and it'll show up in your pet journal. From there you can log any other server and open up your pet journal, right click on the pet and select Put in Cage and then re list the pet on the auction house of that server.

This is a fantastic way to move gold
between servers and great if you're looking to make some gold on a new
server. The sales can be slow so don't be afraid to bark your pets in
trade chat.

Before pets became what they are now I did often buy and sell vendor pets. They were always a fantastic market, people were either too lazy to find the pets themselves or didn't know about blogs or site such as wowhead but either way I was happy to profit off of them. I haven't looked into them for a while with the way that pets work now but it may be something worth looking into!

The question for today is;

"Professions - do you have all of them, some or none? Which is your favorite for goldmaking?"

Master of All.

All of them! I love professions, even before I got into gold making all of my characters had two max professions. It just didn't feel right not to! It wasn't until I got into making gold that I actually began to use their potential!

If you're thinking about getting into gold making definitely have a really good look at your professions and work out some synergy between them. For example Alchemists can transmute Living Steel from Trillium on a daily cool down but they can also transmute Trillium from Ghost Iron bars. Ghost Iron bars are often more expensive than ore so if you have a miner you can cut your costs by smelting your own ore. Living Steel and Trillium are used in Blacksmithing and Engineering.

Double up on professions other than gathering professions. Most if not all professions have daily cool downs such as Living Steel from Alchemy and specialist cloth from Tailoring. If you have characters whom you maybe don't play so much pick up professions on them, they'll take a bit of an investment to get started but as you begin churning out those daily cool downs you'll soon reap the benefits!

As for my favorite well that has to go to Jewelcrafting.Socohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07504566084360387835noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919894404782769142.post-56166938467088070282014-01-07T07:22:00.001+00:002014-01-07T08:15:14.313+00:0020 Days of Gold Making - Day Fourteen. Nev from Auction House Addict has created a community project for the gold makers among us 20 Days of Gold Making You can find a list of all of the participants in this blog post at AH addict.

The question for today is;

"14. How much of your playtime is devoted to gold making? Do you raid/pvp/pet battle too or is the AH your main playtime?"

Gold making has always just been a side thing for me. Up until Cataclysm raiding was always my main priority. I hit gold cap just before I quit raiding during Dragon Soul and I actually made a blog post detailing my daily gold making routine looking back at it now is mind blogging how much I actually used to do compared to now!

I also wrote a post a few weeks ago about having transferred server multiple times. In doing so I lost most of my crafting alts. As I mentioned in that post I'm contemplating moving to Horde but I'm still waiting to hear more about connected realms before I level more alts. For the moment I'll be honest and say that I actually don't make gold any more. Sure I still make some, I still flip pets from one of my busier servers to a quiet one. I still sell random bits and bobs I pick up but I'll now happily sell materials I pick up on the auction house rather than mail them to alts to craft more profitable items.

For the moment pet Battling, PvP, reputation grinding and achievements are so much further up my list. Who knows what Warlords of Dreanor will bring though! Socohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07504566084360387835noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5919894404782769142.post-9979748740692006772013-12-07T23:03:00.001+00:002013-12-10T21:58:12.635+00:00Tabard of the Hand transmog contest entry. Samaramon created a Transmog contest involving the Tabard of the Hand which is a tabard you get from completing the Draenei starting area. When she announced it I had great intentions of creating a look for each of the armor classes but I've just moved house and we only just got our internet back! So with the deadline being tomorrow I've managed to knock two together quickly this evening.

The rules were pretty simple;

~ The tabard MUST be included. (I think this is implied, but you never know)
~ The set MUST be transmoggable. No full plate then cloth head, for example.
When I started playing WoW I started as Alliance because a friend who already played was Alliance. That was back before all this fangled cross realm, cross faction friends whom you could actually talk to so it made sense for us to be in the same place. The server I started on, Quel'Thalas was recommended for new players and that's why we started there. During Vanilla I pretty much stuck to just one character, my Warrior who was my first level sixty. Only taking a little bit of time off from her to level a Mage and Hunter however only the Hunter reached max level before The Burning Crusade expansion.

During TBC I was well and truly bitten by the Alt bug, I finished off leveling my Mage to the new max level of seventy along with my Warrior, and Hunter. I later leveled a Priest, Druid and Paladin to accompany them, Only the Paladin didn't make it to seventy in time for the next expansion. I remained loyal to the Alliance only straying once to level a Blood Elf Priest because I thought they were super pretty but she never got very far before returning to my "real" characters.

During Wrath of The Lich King I added even more characters to my ranks! A Death Knight, Warlock, Shaman and Rogue. All of them reaching level eighty.

During a bit of a lull after raiding Naxxramus for so long, while waiting for Ulduar to show up some friends and I started leveling Horde characters. It was really fun doing the Horde quests, some of the zones felt completely different. Again, it didn't last long before I started to feel guilty about not spending time with my main and what I continued to refer to as my "real" characters.

About a month after patch 3.2 landed, Call of the Crusade, Blizzard introduced a new fancy micro-transaction. The ability to faction change!

I was all over that shit. My guild had cleared ToC and there wasn't much else happening in game so my boyfriend and I decided to faction change to Horde. It was a pretty easy decision to make. I wouldn't be leaving all of Korla's cool mounts, achievements and vanity items behind as I would if I'd just decided to reroll the character. I also transferred my Druid over as at the time she was my most played alt.

Not long after the faction change however an ex guildy asked my boyfriend and I to faction change back to Alliance. He was starting his own guild and really wanted us to be a part of it. Having not had much luck guild wise as Horde we decided to take him up on it.

At some point during ICC the entire guild transferred to Horde, This time I took my Priest and my Mage across to rejoin my Druid. A few months into Cataclysm however our guild leader had to leave the game and the rest of the raid team began dropping like flies. My boyfriend and I found another guild and began raiding 25's with them along with two real life friends, although I always preferred 10 man raiding.

For one reason or another during the Firelands patch My boyfriend and I decided to move off of the server. By this point it wasn't very lively, there were few options in terms of guilds who were progressing. Two friends we'd gotten close to though the guild also wanted to move server with us but they wanted to change to Alliance. I was completely fine with going back to the Alliance (again!) but the majority wanted to try out a PvP server. We ended up on Sylvanas as they had pretty good raid progression. I went along with it but I regretted it pretty quickly.

When I moved server I only moved my Priest, my main. Throughout Cataclysm I'd gotten my Shaman, Warrior, Hunter, Druid and Mage to 85 along with my Priest. All of which I left behind when I transferred. I also left behind my namesake Soco, a Death knight at level 82 and a Paladin who was 83. I felt pretty bad leaving them behind but once I moved my main away from them they essentially died. I completely stopped logging into that server.

Once we all moved to Sylvanas we joined a guild and continued to raid. I stayed with the guild until after we'd cleared normal Dragon Soul. I just didn't have it in me to continue on to do Heroic Dragon Soul and my hatred for being on a PvP server grew and I decided to transfer yet again. I actually posted a blog post about it back in May last year Time for a change.

I moved my Priest to Silvermoon which is one of the largest population realms in the EU and almost exclusively Alliance. I bought a second account and with recruit a friend I leveled one of every class apart from Rogue to level 80. I'm unemployed so while I lack in money I have an abundance of time. I just couldn't justify paying to faction change and server transfer all of the 85's I'd left behind on Quel'Thalas. Sadly that server was also short lived, with the release of Mists of Pandaria the server was crazy busy. I hated the queue time to play, I hated the vast amount of people standing on quest npc's, I couldn't play when I wanted to play I'd sometimes have to wait an hour or more.

Blizzard occasionally offer free character transfers off of servers which are over populated. I was given two server choices Chamber of Aspects and Doomhammer. I decided on CoA because Nev from AH Addict played on that server. I also knew the name Korla was available because it belonged to a level 70 Priest of mine where as Doomhammer the name was already taken. I enjoyed Chamber for the first few months and leveled all of my RaF characters from 80 to 90 pretty quickly but something was lacking. I was pretty lonely on the server.

During the summer of last year Blizzard knocked 50% off of the price of some of their services and that included server changing. I took them up on that offer and moved Korla to Emerald Dream where I became much happier!

All of my level 90's on Chamber of Aspects suffered the same fate as those left at 85 of Quel'Thalas. They were again left abandoned, never to see the light of day again. Or were they?

As part of an Alt Appreciation event I've been taking part in I began playing my Horde Shaman on Quel'Thalas during Shaman week. That poor abandoned litle gobbo Shaman back on my original server! I already had a level 90 Alliance Shaman but I wanted to level a Horde to experience the Horde side of Pandaria and for the achievement Double Agent. I haven't stopped playing her since! I tested out the leveling to 90 on The Timeless Isle method (which by the way is amazing!). I've began leveling Soco as well as a Horde Mage I had also left on the server, She's almost 88 now! This however has given me that itch, the itch to transfer my Priest back to Horde to where she belongs! If this is the case I'll also most likely transfer her back to Quel'Thalas to join my other Horde characters.

For the moment though I'm leveling my Horde characters on Quel'Thalas in the hope that eventually the server will get connected with a few others. I wouldn't return to it in it's current state. The auction house is dire which is funny because I hit gold cap on the server back in Cata before all of my moving around. If the server never gets merged with others then I'm not really sure what I'll do or where I'll go, all I know is that Korla makes a really pretty Blood Elf and I'm stoked to see the new models, as much as I love Draenei I prefer being a Blood Elf.
